Dr. Becky Talcott Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Talcott was 5 years old when she knew she wanted to become a veterinarian. When she told her parents, they responded in all seriousness that she could not be a veterinarian because "only men were allowed to be vets" and that she would be "taking a job away from a man that needed to support his family." Her grandmother declared that to be "utter poppycock" and told her that she could be whatever she wanted to be. Sheer tenacity and stubbornness must skip a generation! Years later, when she graduated from UC Davis in 1993 with her veterinary degree, 80% of her graduating class were women.
Dr. Talcott met her husband, Kent, in vet school. Dr. Kent Talcott is also a veterinarian and is s surgeon at PetCare in Santa Rosa. They have two kids, Ben and Taylor, and a multitude of pets. (SOME people in the family feel they are one pet away from being animal hoarders, but the kids disagree! LOL!)
Dr. Talcott started working at Analy Vet in 2018, and could not be happier to be here. For those who don't know her, she will be the one running around with a can of cat/dog food in her pocket. Sometimes, bribery is needed for the patients to see the virtue of going to the vet.
When not seeing patients, you could find Dr. Talcott gardening, reading a good book or backpacking in the Sierras.
